The Tectonic Arena Sardona offers unique insights in the evolution of the mountains and alpine valleys. Along the large visible line, the Glarus thrust fault, also known as the «magical line», 250 to 300 million years old rocks thrust over immature rocks. Some of the immature rocks are «only» 35 to 50 million years old. This happened about 10 to 20 million years ago, far below the ground at that time.
